Pink, pink, and more pink.. Like every other room in the house, it had been hosed down with Pepto Bismol. For some reason, these shots manage to dull the true horror. And even now that it's a nice soothing shade of (don't laugh) purple, I'm not sure how I actually managed to sleep here for two and a half years. |

In order to rewire the light over the front entry, we had to poke massive holes in the front wall just over the baseboards last year. While we found some remnants of tatty old rock wool insulation in the wall, the gaping hole resulted in yet more arctic breezes wafting through the house last winter... |

| In that house, the 2 front bedrooms were connected by a single-panel door identical to my fifth one and I have to assume that it originally hung here. (If you look closely, you'll see that the baseboard has been badly patched and that there is a pretty big crack running up the wall where the original doorframe was.) This is probably the only case to date where I agree with remuddling choices made by The Evil Panelers. If this doorway were restored, the master bedroom would connect to all the rooms on the second floor and there would be no real privacy for its inhabitants. And, by not restoring this doorway, I was able to use the door to fix the first floor coat closet. |
